Cybercentres

Logotipo de CibercentrosAt PROTEGELES we think of cybercentres as places that provide a great service to children as they facilitate their access to such an important tool as Internet. At cybercentres, children and young teenagers can surf the net together with their friends or with an adult, they can exchange their experiences and the fact is that little by little, cybercentres are also becoming a meeting point for them.  For all these reasons, we think it is necessary to involve cybercentres on children’s safety on Internet.

Our campaign, “Friendly cybercentre” promotes those cybercentres that voluntarily join it.  Cybercentres willing to take part in this campaign must fulfil the following two requirements:

captura de cibercentrosCybercentres fulfilling both requirements and joining the campaign will be given a distinguishing logo, endorsed by PROTEGELES and by the Spanish Child Ombudsperson that will allow cybercentres users to know that that particular centre has joined our campaign and will serve as a guarantee of their safety level.  The poster and the leaflets they have to display are provided by PROTEGELES.   The cybercentres get a good promotion as we elaborate a list of the “friendly cybercentres” that we distribute to the two biggest Spanish Parents and Teachers Associations and to all those institutions that ask us for it.

The goal of this campaign is to get cybercentres involved on the protection of children on the Internet and to promote the use of “friendly cybercentres”.  Today there are more than 400 centres supporting this campaign.  For detailed information, please check: www.cibercentroamigo.com
